Fred Thompson Launches National Petition Effort to Renew Tax Cuts
Unless Congress acts, the automatic tax increase that is set to begin on January 1, 2011 includes an across the board increase on marginal income tax
rates as follows (based on a single person's 2010 income):
• 35% bracket will increase to 39.6% ($373,650 and above)
• 33% bracket will increase to 36% ($171,850 – 373,650)
• 28% bracket will increase to 31% ($82,400 – 171,850)
• 25% bracket will increase to 28% - ($34,000 – 82,400)
• 10% and 15% brackets will condense to 15%, a 50% increase for lower-income taxpayers (10% $0 - 8,375 and 15% $8,375 – 34,000)
